Staying at Glenthorne
Glenthorne offers a wide range of accommodation: double, twin, single and family rooms, the majority of which are en-suite; all are simply and comfortably furnished. See Tariff for full details.
Recently added are two additional rooms, designed to the highest standard for wheel-chair users.
Tea / coffee making facilities are available in all rooms and Wi-fi is accessible in most of the building. All bedrooms are situated at ground or first floor level, some in the main house and others in the adjacent Bankside.
Meals provide an opportunity for meeting other guests in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying home-cooked food, with much of the ingredients being locally-sourced. There is always a vegetarian option and other diets can be catered if ordered in advance. Wines, beers and a variety of soft drinks are available to purchase with your evening meal.
For relaxation there is a welcoming lounge and adjoining garden room. The newly-built meeting room may be available for television viewing.
Outside, the spacious lawns provide space for you to just sit and enjoy the stunning scenery, for picnics or for children’s activities. A large car-park is available for residents.
If your stay at Glenthorne is to attend a Conference or one of the Events and Workshops, if you come as part of a group or as an individual seeking peace in a quietly meditative environment, or if you want a comfortable and convenient base for an energetic walking holiday in the central Lake District, you can be assured that every effort is made to create a welcoming atmosphere, with staff prepared to respond to individual needs and requests.
